What we do and why we do it.
All of the trustees have a passion to see a more equitable world-wide society. They share a desire to contribute to halting the worldwide ecological decline generally, and in the Philippines specifically.
MuCAARD Mindanao faces a funding crisis following the staged withdrawal of core funding from Christian Aid, and is actively seeking support for its current and future projects.
The approach of MuCAARD-UK will be to raise funds for specific projects proposed to them by MuCAARD Mindanao or POs. Projects will be required to be based on at least one of the following criteria:
Combating climate change.
Promoting sustainability.
Providing potable water supplies.
Integrated sustainable agro-forestry.
Development of small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
Promoting peace and harmony between diverse communities.
The evaluation will be performed by the trustees of MuCAARD-UK based on project proposals generated by MuCAARD Mindanao working in conjunction with POs. The trustees have existing involvement with various voluntary projects operating in Mindanao, so there will be opportunity for on-site verification and scrutiny, although day-to-day support and supervision will be delegated to MuCAARD Mindanao staff.
The trustees will provide on-going support and advice as and when requested.
