Hats off to Manningtree High School.

MuCAARD-UK continued the policy of raising awareness of development and climate issues by attending a curriculum day at Manningtree High School on the 24th November 2009. The students were given a presentation about the work of MuCAARD-UK and the difference it can make to the poor.

MuCAARD-UK continued the policy of raising awareness of development and climate issues by attending a curriculum day at Manningtree High School on the 24th November 2009. The students were given a presentation about the work of MuCAARD-UK and the difference it can make to the poor.

In addition to this the pupils were allowed to play a simulation game called the Poverty Challenge, designed to show them the hardships and perils that families in poor communities have to suffer. The game (designed for Christian Aid) included activities such as producing crops by making sacks of dried peas, dealing with middle men and having to walk long distances to collect water!

The students were also able to contribute to the MuCAARD-UK effort by designing posters and publicity leaflets for the charity. In addition to this one group have nominated MuCAARD-UK as their beneficiaries during Charities week.

A great big thank you to the students of Manningtree High School!!!
